Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society Photography Presentation by William Swislow
When: Sat, May 19 2pm
Where: Edge Theatre, 5451 N. Broadway Ave.
Chicago’s lakefront is lined with a vast collection of outdoor sculptures and paintings yet this virtual museum of public art is virtually unknown. Just look down as you stroll the lakefront path. Millions have strolled, swam, fished, hung out and some looked to pass the time with pen knives, screwdrivers or chisels, carving a legacy into those miles of lakefront.
Chicago’s waterfront stone-carving extravaganza seems unique, a triumph of the city’s forever open and free public lakeshore
Join Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society to hear from William Swislow, a photographer whose artistic vision celebrates Chicago's hidden treasures, in this event co-sponsored by three North Side historical associations.
Cost is free, RSVP here, https://rpwrhs.org/program/hidden-in-plain-sight-chicagos-lakefront-masterpieces/.
