Jessica Hornsten - Vocalist

Jessica is a versatile singer/instrumentalist with a classical and musical theater background. When she’s not singing cabaret with Ken, you will find her performing with bands such as Petty Kings, Deacon Blues, Big Suit, Golden Richards, and Rolling Numbers. This summer, she will appear as Joni Mitchell in the latest SoundTracks Of A Generation shows Desert Rock, The Last Waltz, and Ladies from the Canyon. Recent venues include the Park West, City Winery, Navy Pier, Metropolis, and the Raue Center for the Performing Arts.

Ken McMullen - Pianist

Ken is a professional pianist, teacher, and vocal coach. He has performed numerous musical theatre productions at Theatre at the Center, Drury Lane Oakbrook, and is the resident musical director at Metropolis Performing Arts Center. Ken is also the pianist for a number of bands that tour all over the country including being the music director/conductor/pianist for CLOSE TO YOU: Music of the Carpenters. Ken has also done many cabaret shows throughout the Chicago area including numerous performances at Davenport's. Before moving to Chicago in 2003, Ken performed aboard Carnival Cruise Lines as a rock/jazz pianist for almost 6 years. He continues to play jazz in several jazz combos and private concerts. Ken plays piano for many ballet/dance companies in Chicago and is the principal pianist for the Lincolnshire Academy of Dance. He is also the pianist for the Chicago Gay Men's chorus. Ken continues to perform all while teaching piano and vocal coaching. His degree is in music education with a stress on classical performance. 

The duo will be performing a mix of favorite songs from many performances over the years, including pop, musical theater, jazz standards, and cabaret selections.

Helpful Info:

Colvin House cannot provide parking on site for this event. The first 20 cars can park free at George B. Swift Elementary school, just a block west of Colvin House. Please pull up to Colvin House's driveway gate (Thorndale Ave) first to receive a parking permit which will provide further instruction.

For $12-$14, valet parking is also available at the Malibu Condominiums (6007 N. Sheridan Rd.) public garage, just across the street, north of Colvin House. This parking can be validated by Colvin House for $2 off.

Arrive early if you need to park.

  • While tickets can be purchased at the gate upon arrival, please note that Colvin House cannot make change so please bring the exact amount.

While RSVP is free, there is a suggested donation in place of a ticket price at the door so that Colvin House can pay artists and continue supporting the performing arts. They ask that you contribute $20, $10 or even $5 toward paying the musicians and staff for their efforts in producing these community concerts at the Colvin House.

Colvin House cannot make change so please bring the exact amount you plan on donating. They also accept Zelle & PayPal. Thank you.
