The Courtyard Series: Fumée
Fumée (feminine noun): smoke, smolder. Is there anything more French?
Bandleader and vocalist Christy Bennett named the band after bringing together a group of musicians to perform music in a style inspired by Django Reinhardt. Classically trained, her mastery of romance languages as well as her instrument informed her choice of repertoire for the group. Performing music of the past, often rare hidden gems and music from around the world, Bennett combined their love of old things with a passion for making great music. The Fumee lineup includes a rotating cast of some of the best musicians Chicago has to offer. The upcoming concert at Colvin House is featuring: The Irving Berlin Connection: Irving Berlin and the Songwriters he Influenced.
