Join GirlForward for an event to share stories, build community and show gratitude for everyone that supports GirlForward and their broader refugee, immigrant and youth populations.
Each year GirlForward gathers their community to celebrate and show gratitude for the past year. This year GirlForward is excited to release and feature their mural, "I'm Strong, I Struggle, I Win" which was created by a cohort of GirlForward girls this summer who served as Peace by Peace Project fellows.
The GirlForward Peace by Peace Fellowship was the first art-fellowship project at GirlForward. This program was titled Culture, Belonging and Community: Defining Peace for Us, Building Peace Through Us, giving fellows a chance to learn about and explore mural making, storytelling, safety, community narrative and activism through art.
Much thanks to the lead facilitators - Kinga Monika Szopinska, Onyx Montes, Jaylan Abd Elrahman, and Chetna Mehta - and the many girls in their community who made this initiative possible with their talents and leadership!
GirlForward is a community of support dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for girls who have been displaced globally by conflict and persecution. Each year, GirlForward serves over 200 girls who identify as refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers through Mentoring, Education, and Safe Spaces Programs. Learn more at www.girlforward.org.
