The "Parting Glass" Trio: a string band playing Assorted Roots, Irish, Blues, Bluegrass, and World Music

John Neafsey, vocals, and guitar. John is a native of Rogers Parker and a lover of traditional Irish music and classic Chicago Blues. His favorite gig is a monthly Parting Glass session at Cunneen’s bar on Devon Avenue.

Jennifer Dunne, fiddle. Jen is a professional violinist who has played with the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra (backing up Smokey Robinson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Sarah McLaughlin, and Marco Antonio Solis), and the Chicago Philharmonic- among others. Jen’s love and admiration of Irish, Americana, and Bluegrass music are realized through this group.

Jim Szmurlo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, vocals. Jim, a native Chicagoan, always had a passion for folk, roots, and ethnic music. Over the years he's played with various musical groups and friends, ranging from Appalachian, Balkan, Scandinavian, Americana, and whatever catches his ear. His interest in playing instruments is as varied as his musical tastes.

Food & Drink:

For this event, Colvin House will be offering a special Valentine's Day dinner menu.

For $100, pairs can purchase a Dinner-for-Two with a shared appetizer, shared salad course, two entrées, and a shared dessert. 

You can reserve this unique and romantic experience through the Add-On option when you click 'Get Tickets.'

Outside food is no longer allowed at Colvin Concerts.

Colvin House does not sell alcoholic beverages onsite. A selection of non-alcoholic beverages is available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own beer, wine, etc.

Donation:

RSVP is free, there is a suggested donation instead of a ticket price at the door so that Colvin House can pay their talented, local artists and continue supporting the performing arts. They ask that you contribute $20/person toward paying the musicians and staff for their efforts in producing these community concerts at the Colvin House.

While Colvin House prefers cash donations whenever possible, they also accept Zelle, Venmo and PayPal. Thank you!

Parking Info:

Colvin House can only provide limited parking onsite for this event, usually reserved for parkers with disabilities.

The first 20 cars can park FREE at George B. Swift Elementary School, just a block west of Colvin House (as space allows). Please pull up to Colvin House's driveway gate (Thorndale Ave.) first to receive a parking permit, which will provide further instructions.

The Malibu Condominiums parking garage is under construction and not open for public parking.

Colvin House recommends arriving early if you need to park.
