SUMMARY:Artists of the Wall Arts & Music Festival: We Are All Neighbors
DESCRIPTION:The Artists of the Wall Festival got its start in 1993\, when a group of Rogers Park neighbors came up with a crucial idea. Gangs had been continually tagging graffiti on the 600-foot sea wall to the point where the Chicago park district couldn't keep up maintenance. The group thought if the wall was painted by the community with art\, that it would be respected and could be enjoyed by all throughout the year. And having the event on Father's Day weekend would make it a family-oriented event that would bring the whole Rogers Park community out.\n\n\n\nMini murals will be painted using inspiration from this year's theme: "We're All Neighbors" with live music\, story telling and dance. \n\n\n\nJoin the community on a day of celebration.\n\n \n\nStay tuned for more information.\n\n \n\nACCESS AND INCLUSION NOTES\n\nThe festival is located in Loyola Park between Farwell and Morse. The closest CTA station train station is Morse Red Line. The closest bus is 147 Sheridan Road and 155 Devon/Clark. For more info\, please go to www.loyolapark.org/events.\n\n \n\nABOUT LOYOLA PARK ADVISORY COUNCIL\n\nThe Loyola Park Advisory Council is a group of volunteers that work to produce events in the park. This year\, with the reopening of in-person activity in the parks\, LPAC has doubled down on its commitment to producing events in the park with two movies in the park\, eight park tours\, bi-monthly community gardening events\, a rock skipping contest\, a sandcastle and abstract rock sculpture day\, and a Halloween pet parade. Please spread the word about our events all are welcome! To see a list of all events\, including those of our neighbor\, Leone Park\, go to www.loyolapark.org/events\n\n \n\nMore info at\, /www.loyolapark.org/artists-of-the-wall or contact: loyolaparkac@gmail.com.
